A hacker con in Australia’s capital. See the event scheduale on the BSides AU website.
Date: 27th June
Vendor: BSides Brisbane
Cost: From $50 AUD
Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participates in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening.
For our second con (and hopefully you’ve picked it already), we are pushing for a space theme, while keeping similarities to last years ‘Cyber Punk’ and ‘Dystopian’ theme. We are hoping to use this to theme all elements of the event, from the CTF room through to the badge. While we aren’t strangers to organising smaller community-focused events, this will be our first proper grown-up conference. It won’t all be perfect, in fact I would be surprised if any of it is, but we will be busting our ass to make sure everyone that attends gets the most out of it as they possibly can, and that everyone has a blast.
In times of change and disruption, leadership is critically needed to drive progress, collaboration and innovation in the new world of work. As organisations leverage cutting edge technologies and innovative practices to meet the rising business, workforce and customers expectations, the role of IT leaders will become increasingly challenging as they take their businesses and people on the journey of transformational change. Be the business champion your organisation needs to help it grow and prepare people to adapt and excel in the evolving realities.
