Business Development Managers

We are looking for exceptional business development managers to grow our B2B software services base. This role offers remote working opportunities, generous commission and travel opportunities.

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 plus commissions

Our biggest focus this year is new customer growth, and we are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to help us bring in new customers from target industries (Managed Service Providers, Retail Service Providers, Telecommunications Wholesalers and Utility Providers). 




Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager has responsibility for the sales activities in selected territories and markets. This will include personal selling to selected accounts and the management of existing and future sales opportunities. 

We are looking for someone with a technology or software sales background who is not afraid of getting out there and banging on some (virtual) doors. 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Managing sales activities designed to bring in new customers (e.g. research, outreach, consultations, demonstrations) 
  • Working to an agreed sales plan in accordance with your Sales Manager
  • Management of your pipeline of leads (cold and warm) and opportunities
  • Tracking of all sales activities in Salesforce
  • Sales administration activities (e.g. contract creation)
  • Meeting (and hopefully exceeding) your sales target 


We are looking for an extremely motivated individual with exceptional sales skills. Someone who can open doors, identify new business opportunities, manage channel and vendor relationships and ultimately help us grow our customer base. 

You will be passionate about technology and will have some prior experience in selling complex products or services (e.g. Software, Technology). 

You will need exceptional relationship-building skills, great time management skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to think clearly in a crisis. 


The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of B2B/ technology sales or software sales experience with a demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding sales targets. 
  • Exceptional communications skills. You will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), engaging and able to build and nurture relationships with new prospective customers, our channel partners and other vendors in the Channel.
  • Strong prioritisation skills. You will be able to manage your own sales activities and meet key sales targets. 
  • A high level of attention to detail. 
  • Strong technical skills. You will need to be able to use our CRM (Salesforce), the MS Office Suite and manage video calls and conferences (Ring Central)


  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Business analysis experience
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with billing and/ or provisioning platforms


  • The chance to make some serious money – We’re offering a high base salary plus uncapped commissions. We are expecting our BDMs to take home over $100,000 in their first year.
  • Travel Opportunities – We were about to embark on our first roadshow when the COVID-19 Pandemic struck. Once we are able to travel again this role will involve travel in the Asia Pacific region.  
  • Remote and flexible working – We’re open to candidates in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for this role. During COVID-19 you’ll be working remotely. Once we are back to some form of normalcy, you’ll be able to work from a location of your choice.
  • Allowances – We’ll be offering a company laptop (Macbook or Surface) and salary packaging options (to be negotiated).
